In human body eyes are the most important part. We cannot imagine this beautiful world without our eyes. They are also the most complicate part and take years to develop fully. It collects and focuses light on the retina and then sending it as electrical signal to the brain. This process begins even before a child is born.

Eye Development stages

They begin to form in the womb 6 weeks right after conception and starts to see light through fused eyelids. Exposure to light is needed for healthy eyes and neat vision in womb. After they are born, they do not know to distinguish two targets or things. Mostly they are interested in nearer targets. Eye hand coordination develops in the first few months as the babies try to track moving objects. Depth perception starts after five months and the babies see the world in a three dimensional pattern. During this time color vision is developed. When they attain nine months they use their eyes and hand together and learn to crawl and gain the ability to judge distances.

Possible vision problems

Some of the eye problems are associated with children and parents must look for these signs. If there is excessive tearing it may be an indication of tear ducts getting blocked. If the eyes are red, it may be because of an eye infection. If the eyes are constantly turning it may be strabismus. If the eyes are sensitive to light, it may be because of excessive pressure in eyes. White pupil may indicate eye cancer.

Parents must look for these signs and regularly check their children eyes for a healthy and happy life.
