Convenient Barraquer Speculum

The ophthalmic instrument used in retracting the eye lid for holding it open during surgery is known as Barraquer Wire Speculum. This is a string type light weight eye speculum instrument in the form of wire. This is so small and hence, easily used in an effective manner.
The thinness of the wire prevents it from creating any kind of inconveniences during the cataract surgeries. This type maintains minimum pressure when placed on the eye thus avoids pain to some extent. This self-retaining retractor is available with solid or fenestrated blades.
