The red bump, which occurs at the edge of our eyelids, is one of the most annoying things which block our vision. Apart from blocking our vision, it is bit painful. There may be two problems associated with it – chalazion or styes. Let us discuss the difference between both of them and their treatment.

Chalazion – An Overview

Chalazion is an inflammatory lesion which blocks the tear or the oil producing glands in the eye.The meibomian gland, which lubricates the cornea, gets blocked. As a result, a red lump is formed which varies in sizes. The vision gets disturbed when it grows further, but it is usually painless.

Stye – An Overview

Bacteria is the vector, which attacks the oil glands in the eyelids. It is a most common type of red bump which blocks the eyelids and creates irritation. It appears red, watery and scratchy and there are more possibilities for an individual to get more than one stye and it is mostly advisable not to pinch it.
