Talk to your eye care provider to determine whether the Nanodropper is right for your treatment plan. For general guidance, the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends discarding a bottle of eye drops 3 months after opening. On that basis, 4 adaptors is an annual supply for most treatment plans.

What is the right size for eye drops?

Multiple studies support that 7–10 microliters is the ideal drop size for the average human eye. Typical eye drop bottles administer upwards of 50 microliters. The Nanodropper adaptor reduces each drop to the ideal 10-microliter range.

There is limited space on the eye that can hold extra liquid. Once that limit is met, the excess drains through the tear ducts or is blinked out.
