Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK) is usually done for patients having thin cornea. It is also known as ASLA or Advanced Surface Laser and is done for people where LASIK and SMILE are not a good option. One of the main disadvantages of this treatment is that it will take weeks instead of days.

LASIK is another type of surgery which involves laser. It is an acronym for Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. It is one of the most popular laser surgeries for vision correction and is available worldwide.

SMILE is also known as Small Incision Lenticule Extraction and it involves tissue separation from cornea by making a keyhole incision. This is one of the recent vision correction procedures and has gained popularity. The accuracy level is higher compared to LASIK because of the minimal effect on corneal nerve supply. The problem of dry eyes is also less likely to occur.
