It is not pollen grains that are irritating in the eyes for women who is undergoing menopause. According to a research more than 3 million women experience dry eyes due to menopause annually, but only 30 percentage has been diagnosed. Both allergic and dry eyes have similar symptoms.

Some of the indicators of dry eyes are gritty feeling, burning sensation in eyes, redness and reflex tearing. On the other hand allergies also cause tearing and redness but itching is the main symptom. If any pet animal is near and pollen count are high, then probably it is allergy.

Before going to a doctor make some list of that you are suffering from. It is very helpful in diagnosing. Burning, mucus secretion, foreign particle sensation in eye, light sensitivity, redness, Blurred vision, scratchiness, tearing, dryness and swelling of eyelids are some of the symptoms.

Treatment for Dry eyes and Allergy

There are different treatments for dry eyes and allergy. Treating dry eyes include gland treatment and using tear lubricants. Treatment for allergies includes antihistamine, cool compress and artificial lubricants. If you are using contact lens make sure you clean them regularly. Consult your doctor if you have any of these symptoms and keep your eyes healthy.
