Every year in June, National Safety month id observed and it is also encouraged to other organizations and companies. The workers must be educated about preventable injuries and deaths because of lack of safety. When it comes to safety, protecting the eyes also becomes more important.

As per CDC reports, it is estimated that nearly 2000 workers in US receive eye related medical treatment of some form. Many workers and employers take eye injury lightly and do not care about. This is where the eyes get permanent damage. One of the best ways to protect our eyes from injury is wearing protective eye glasses and it must also be ensured to each and every worker to wear protective eye wear as it prevents the eyes from molten metals, chemicals, liquids, caustic liquids, chemical gases, flying particles and light radiation. One should always wear protective eye wear even if the job site does not demand it.

Eyes, if once got injured, can rarely be cured. However there are also some tips to take care of the safety goggles. Always keep the glasses clean by cleaning it with soap water. One can also use eyeglass cleaner which ensures good visibility. Adjust the glasses properly if they don’t sit on your face correctly. If you are using contact lenses and if any particles get inside the eyes, don not wit and just remove the contact lenses as it can easily scratch the cornea. If accidently caustic soda gets into the eye, flush the eyes with cool water and replace the contact lenses as soon as possible.
