Carotid arteries send blood to our eyes and brain. These blood vessels are present in the neck. There are two of them in our neck, one on right side and one on the left side. They are very important for proper functioning of our eyes and brain. When the blood flow through the carotid artery is blocked, we get carotid artery disease. When adequate amount of oxygen and blood is not carried to eyes and brain, they do not function properly and in turn one side of our body gets weakened and we loose vision on that particular side.
