If you have turned forty recently, you can see some age related changes. It reminds us gently that there are some changes to do to our body. This will remove the barrier and helps us to enjoy our life like before. Near vision is one of the problems during this age. Our eyes will lose the ability to focus clearly on the objects nearby. The crystalline lens present inside the eyes becomes less flexible and is a natural part of the ageing process. It is called presbyopia.

If you are reading a newspaper on a fine morning and notice that your eyes went blurred on seeing the contents in newspaper, you can blame presbyopia. This can be easily managed by a contact lens and there is no need to wear a reading glass.

Multifocal contact lens

In the beginning, the only way to overcome presbyopia is using a monovision lens. People who use this lens are given a prescription for distant vision in one eye and near vision on the other. This technique is still in use today. As it prevents the eyes from working together and both the eyes are not corrected for optimal focus. Recently multifocal contact lenses are developed which contains multiple zones of vision correction. This helps the eyes to work in a coordinated way.

If you are suffering from presbyopia, consult your doctor and know which contact lens suits best for you. There are variety of options available.
