  • Sure, this Near Card can be downloaded from the FAA web site and printed on paper but how long does it last?
  • This new Good-Lite version of the 8500-1 card is based on the same optotype but it is printed on VERY durable styrene plastic with finer resolution than achievable with office printers.
  • The 8500-1 card provides Sloan Letter from 20/20 to 20/200 (at 40 cm) plus various Aeronautical Chart symbols and figures.
  • Chart is marked for use at both near vision at 16 in. (40 cm) and the intermediate distance of 32 in. (80 cm). Illumination should be 10-25 foot candles (f4 at 1/15 sec ASA 100, but no more than f6.8 at 1/15 100 ASA). 8500-1.
  • FAA Near Cards is approx. 5.5 x 8 (13.97 cm x 20.32 cm).
  • Can be cleaned with soap and water.
  • UV coated.
